Together with architect Michael Pietsch from Pietsch Arkitekter, we created what would become Railway – a unique kitchen where form, function and feel meet. Railway Original has since attracted attention both in Sweden and internationally. It has been awarded the Elle Decoration Swedish Design Awards for Kitchen of the Year 2015, nominated for the Guldstolen and highlighted in a number of leading design and interior design magazines.
The kitchen that grows with the home
Railway Kitchen is the result of our passion for architecture, design and craftsmanship. It combines modern lines with classic references in a timeless whole that looks just as good in a turn-of-the-century apartment as in a newly built house.
The style is based on a design language where the fronts are framed with marked cover sides that run all the way to the floor, wall or ceiling – like the rails on a railway, hence the name. It creates a sense of integrity and precision, and brings to mind something architectural and permanent rather than modular.

All Railway Kitchen modules and doors/sliding doors are made by skilled craftsmen here in Sweden. We use the finest quality oak, carefully band sawing whole planks or veneers and carefully treating the surface to maintain a natural lightness in the oak that will last for many years to come. It is time-consuming work but gives a fantastically unique result.

Railway Kitchen is based on IKEA's Metod frames, but takes the kitchen to a whole new level with our tailor-made fronts, covers, plinths and options. You get a solution that is both flexible and long-term - adapted to your home and your style.
